Stevens, Coleman Apparent Victors

With 96% of precincts reporting, Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) has apparently been re-elected, defeating Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich (D) 48.1%-46.5%, which is about 3,500 votes. Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) is equally close to clinching victory, leading Al Franken (D) by a margin of 42.09%-41.86%, or about 6,000 votes (with 98.6% reporting). Meanwhile, Sen. Gordon Smith (R-OR) is clinging to a 5K vote lead over Jeff Merkley (D), but with only 71% reporting there.

Apparently Palin isn't the only Alaskan with no shame. Maybe he needed to commit 8 felonies to lose.

I guess Palin and Stevens make a great pair. People in Alaska must be sleeping in their igloos!

yeah honest politicians like al sharpton and those glorious ones like Pelosi and the homo Frank take all the heat . you betcha

You are too quick on Stevens, as at least 50,000 absentee ballots have yet to be counted, many if not most mailed after the date of his conviction.

Minnesota currently has a difference of 477 votes separating Franken and Coleman. That small of a margin triggers an automatic recount, so we may not know the results of this one for another month.
