The people of the red state of Georgia have spoken, and spoken loudly. Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss recieved almost twice as many votes then his opponent Democrat Jim Martin in the Run-Off election. I live in a largely urban liberal and Black strong hold in Dekalb county, Georgia. From the looks of the polls as I drove past on Memorial Dr. to drop my daughter off and pick her up in Decatur, Georgia, I saw almost no voters going to the polls. While I saw many Black voters vote early as I did, it appears that the Black voters who previously showed up in droves to vote for Obama and Martin, didn't show up to vote today. Even after Martin teamed up with Congressman Lewis and famous Rapper Ludicrist, the Democratic voters obviously didn't think it was important enough to give the DNC's liberal trio Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer a Super Majority for President elect Obama. I am a supporter of Chambliss, and feel he will keep the trio in check, and allow Obama to govern more from the center. Saxby Chambliss, who teams up with fellow Georgia Senator Johnny Isackson, and Lindsey Graham make up three of the five GOP Senators, and five Democrats to form the non- partisan "Group of Ten." Chambliss is a well respected on both sides of the aisle with Senator John McCain who has pledged to cooperate with President Elect Barak Obama to pass the necessary legislation to put America back on its economic feet again. Saxby Chambliss's vitory solidifies Georgia as a Red State, and gives Obama soeone who he can work with instead of a rookie Dem that would be the liberal trio's henchman.

While I supported Republican Saxby Chambliss, I can't help wonder why the Dem White voters and Black voters in Georgia didn't make it a closer race for Jim Martin. I saw very few Black voters at the polls in the Run-Off today compared to when Obama and Martin ran on the origional super Tuesday on election day. Even famous Civil Rights Leader Congressman John Lewis and Rapper Ludicrist could not energize the Black voters to come back to the polls and vote in the Run-Off. I respect Lewis and Ludicrist, and applaud thier patriotic support for thier Democratic candidate Jim Martin, who is a Viet Nam Veteran. As a fellow Veteran, I feel sorry that not as many white voters, and fery few Black voters did not show thier support for him in the hotly contested Georgia Senate Run-Off. Perhaps they were ininvertently following Barak Obama's lead by showing a lack luster support for thier Democratic candidate. DNC Super Star President Elect Barack Obama opted not come to Georgia to support Martin for the Run-Off. Did Obama secretly want Chambliss to win to keep Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer in check? We'll never know. You fought hard, and put in a good effort Jim Martin, and I salute you for your military service to this great country of ours.

Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss with his bipartisan alliance in the Group of Ten Democrats and Republicans can help President Obama's incoming administration. Senator Chambliss along with his colligues; Senators (GA.) Johnny Isackson, and (S.C.) Lindsey Graham can influence other GOP Senators to pass the necessary legislation that will put our country back on the road to economic prosperity. Democratic candidate Jim Martin is running a negitive ad puting Saxby Chambliss down for voting for the same bail-out package that Senator Barak Obama did, claiming that he is going to give a tax break to the middle class. Jim Martin is a liberal Democrat that will tow the DNC line, and help Hateful Harry Reid play partisan politics with your tax dollars. President Elect Obama already had to rein in Senator Reid from his vindictive campagn to strip Senator Lieberman of Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. At a time when we need to hear from all perspectives, sending Saxby Chambliss back to Washington is what is best for Georgia, and the country.
