RNC Chair candidate/ex-Huckabee WH ’08 mgr. Chip Saltsman’s Christmas greeting to RNC members included a 41-track music CD with lyrics from a song called "Barack the Magic Negro," The Hill's Reid Wilson reports. Saltsman is a personal friend of conservative parodist Paul Shanklin, who created the CD, entitled "We Hate the USA."
The CD lampoons liberals with such songs as "John Edwards' Poverty Tour," "Wright place, wrong pastor," "Love Client #9," "Ivory and Ebony" and "The Star Spanglish banner."
The song, which debuted on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in the spring of ‘07, "latches onto an opinion column" of the same title in the Los Angeles Times on then-Sen. Barack Obama written by cultural critic David Ehrenstein. The column argued that Obama "could serve as a balm to whites who felt guilty about past treatment of African Americans."
Limbaugh "first highlighted the column the day it ran," according to a contemporary report by Media Matters, the liberal watchdog agency. Media Matters reported Limbaugh repeated the phrase "more than two dozen times" that day.
In Apr. ‘07, Shanklin debuted his version of the song, sung to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon" and performed in Shanklin’s impression of Al Sharpton.
One verse from the song: "See, real black men, like Snoop Dogg, or me, or Farrakhan, have talked the talk, and walked the walk, not come in late and won."
Saltsman said "he meant nothing untoward by forwarding what amounts to a joke more at Ehrenstein's expense than at Obama's."
Saltsman: "Paul Shanklin is a long-time friend, and I think that RNC members have the good humor and good sense to recognize that his songs for the Rush Limbaugh show are light-hearted political parodies."
One problem: Barack is not a Negro.

Hmmmh! Let’s see, A long time ago only Jews were God’s chosen people, then comes Jesus and teaches people about the love of God for his creation, he is crucified, dies and rises from the dead and promises to come back to judge humanity, his 12 disciples convert people regardless of race and ethnicity and we have a universal church.
Then we get the Christian(followers of Christ) right and they judge people by the color of their skin, they talk to God daily but do not have the humility that the saints had after talking to the Lord of time, space and creation, they think he is their personal genie, they become increasingly xenophobic and spread their hate around the world even on Christmas day the birth day of the aforementioned savior who died for the sins of the world. It is indeed a shame. “And Jesus wept.” For this reason there will be final judgement when humanity will realize how we have wronged God through his creation.

A few honest questions for my Republican friends:
1) What is it about black people, poor people, and Spanish-speaking people that Republicans find so funny?
2) How does making fun of black people, poor people, and Spanish-speaking people do service to the teachings of Jesus Christ on His birthday?
3) How does this "Christmas greeting/political parody" promote the Republican Party and its ideals?
I simply don't get it.
Ok to mock white folks - Palin, Clinton (either one), Bush - in skits, cartoons, columns, and songs (listen to some of The Capitol Steps' songs).

Is making fun of Blacks and Hispanics a strategy to win elections? Hmmmm.....if you think so Chip, have at it, and get ready for the RNC to lose big time after time after time.
This is what is wrong with the southern Republican party.
Why make fun of whites and not blacks? Blacks have been the butt of jokes for centuries and this country is acting on hate. It is pure ugly to do what this low class, low IQ WHITE guy did with this. It is the Christmas season and not a time for ugly hatred or what the idiot Republicans call "satire". I majored in satire and believe me, this is ugly hate and no call for it. No matter how you believe, he is now the POTUS. You slapped all Americans across the face not to mention people of color in other countries.
Thank God, the sitting RNC is human and moral and does see what is wrong with this. I don't like "satire" aimed at minorities or whites of certain nationalities. We do these in our home but we are of that nationality and have enough class not to ever say it outside our own home as we don't want to offend anyone. This country used to have a great sense of humor but the Republicans have turned into something hateful and ugly. I can't stand anything directed at Mexicans as they are our neighbors and need help also.
I never knew what a cracker was til now and it is the only negative word I can think of for someone so stupid in the human race.
What era are the republicans living in? Maybe someone should tell them they are missing the boat...or maybe not. Let them sink, afterall they have nothing to offer except hate, lies, fear, ignorance, stupidity and greed.
Get ready it's going to better more finger pointing and blame to come, that guy is done. Now Rush, O Reilly and the rest, run out of all them you will be next. Take it slow we have four years of this to go.
