The New And Improved Mike Huckabee?
The surest sign yet that Mike Huckabee '12 is in development? His vigorous pitch for GA Sen. Saxby Chambliss -- which continues today, even as voters go to the polls, in the form of an online phonebanking effort.
Huck stumped last month for Chambliss, who has been locked in a runoff contest with Democrat Jim Martin. And today, Huckabee's PAC is conducting an 11th hour cyber campaign to push supporters around the country to phonebank for the Republican incumbent. Interestingly, in order to sign up to make calls to GA residents, a user has to enter his or her contact information on Huck's Web site. So Huck builds a database -- emails and the like -- while also doing a good deed for a GOP colleague.
Seems the disorganized, penny-pinching Huck '08 is a thing of the past. The new and improved Huck is drafting a bigger, broader national email list. Eyes on the '12 prize.

Huckabee has always been and will always be a "penny-pincher". That's a good thing; he gets more bang for his buck. But if he was disorganized it was because of lack of funds. As we say down south, "poor people have poor ways."
I guess I would have to deduct from your post that you believe Gov. Huckabee to be a savy politician or maybe just self-serving, either I am not sure. There are reasons other than what I believe you are presuming in Gov. Huckabee's support of Chambiss in today's run-off election. I'll list them here:
#1) Sen. Chambliss is the primary sponsor of S.1025, the FairTax legislation, which Huckabee's campaign gained momentum on during this past election. Sen. Chambliss's re-election is key for its success.
#2)Republicans may need the fillibuster to perserve conservative ideals and Sen. Chambliss's seat may very well be the decidig seat, and Huckabee understands this.
#3)Gov. Huckabee seems to be a team player and will do what is asked to support another republican.
I live in Georgia and atteded the "Fair Tax Rally" last month in which Huckabee stumped for Chambliss. Jim Martin was invited but he did not show, imagine that. There was probably 4,000 people there to hear from the FairTax people including Sen. Chambiss, but most came to hear Gov.Huckabee as was evident when the crowd chanted Huck-a-bee.
Marylanders may not know much about the former Governor of Arkansas and chairman of the NGA, but we here in Georgia believe in the FairTax and Gov. Huckabee.

Democrat Jim Martin is in a runoff against Bush Republican Saxby Chambliss for the Senate seat from Georgia. Bush's Saxby Chambliss voted against spending a few measly dollars to provide health care coverage for Georgia, and Americas needy children. But he supported wasting hundreds of billions of your dollars, and the life BLOOD of Americas finest on an unnecessary war in Iraq.
At a time when 47 million of you have no health insurance coverage, and over 100 million of you with insurance are just one major illness away from complete financial destruction. Bush and Saxby Chambliss voted to make the heart break of bankruptcy relief even harder for all of you to use.
You see, Bush and Saxby Chambliss, and his family don't have to worry about their health care coverage. They have the finest health care coverage your tax money can buy for them. Courtesy of you. The American Tax payer. In fact, no one but the super rich can afford the health care coverage you the tax payer provide for Saxby Chambliss, and his family for FREE! with your tax dollars.
He supposedly works for you. But he doesn't think you and your family should have access to the type of taxpayer supported FREE health care that you provide for him, and his loved ones for FREE!. Doesn't that just make you BURRING MAD!
Vote for JIM MARTIN for US senator from Georgia. Vote for JIM Martin who will be on your side. Vote for JIM MARTIN who will work with President Obama and a majority congress for you. Vote for JIM MARTIN most of all for your-self, your family's, friends, and loved ones. Vote for JIM MARTIN for a better America, and a better World.
Don't let Saxby Chambliss make a chump out of you by tricking you into voting against your own best interest. Saxby chambliss is NOT! on your side. He's not one of you. He is on George Bush's side. And we all know what a catastrophe the Bush Chambliss administration has been the past 8 years.
Contact all your family and friends and do every thing you can to see to it that JIM MARTIN and GEORGIANS! take that senate seat back for Georgia, and America. No matter where you live in America. This is important to you. President Obama will need all the help, and power you can give him to try and fix this catastrophic mess that the Corrupt Bush Chambliss administration has created.
As I said before you will have to vote in overwhelming numbers to overcome the Bush Chambliss "Let Them Eat Cake" vote fraud machine. Vote early if you can. Then help everyone you can get to the polls and vote for JIM MARTIN. You and your loved ones don't have to be Saxby Chambliss's victims anymore.
I know you will get it done. Just like you did for President Obama.

So many promises, I see the new administration is back to the same old government way on spending. I am for the Fair Tax, I am glad to see Senator Chambliss of Georgia's seat filled with the promise to help with some control in the direction of our country. Governor Huckabee was my Governor in Arkansas in the 90's before I moved and landed in Georgia. Georgians are much like the people in Arkansas. Governor Huckabee always made wise choices before implementing his plans. He was a man who planned out before "throwing" his ideals at you. He has done the same with the Fair Tax. Working class of people need to take a look at Fair Tax and ask the new administration to do the same. In fact if most Americans knew how our congress implemented the current "Income Tax" in our history and forced us to pay them I am sure we would really have a cause for concern as most. I am not endorsing any political parties, only anyone who will bring forth Fair Tax. Yes I do belong to a party but it is not the point. In order to get this country back to the people where the "Working Class" can afford health insurance, afford to pay their mortgages, afford to pay their family needs, and afford to pay for the energy such as gasoline, heating, air conditioning, lights and the upkeep of their homes. Retirement is another key issue under this Fair Tax system, for Americans to be able to actually retire without the worries if they have to sell their dream home just to pay for living and medical expenses.
I will support any administration who uses "common sense" and bring America back to the people. I will support any man who understands and wants the Fair Tax. I will help them by getting the word out. Please before any of our fellow American working class says anything, I beg you to read the history of our "Current Income Tax Payment Act of 1943" I dare you to compare it to Karl Marx's ideal in his book " The Communist Manifesto" he wrote in 1848, then read the book " The Fair Tax Book". I believe you will understand why there is a movement to support this new Fair Tax and why, we who are supporters of Fair Tax are voting in the way we are. It is not about the political party, it is about our people, our way of life, our future, our country and our national security.
