I am a HUGE republican, but I still find myself cheering on Obama even though. I think he is the highest quality Democrat that will ever run for President in my life time and I hope he attracts good people to the Democratic party (that alone will make this country a better place even if he destroys the economy and health care in the worst way). I am one of the very rare African Americans who voted for McCain, not because I liked him but because I didn't think Obama was qualified for the job. Now I'm being proven right. I work in a union job in a dark blue city/blue state that voted big-time for him. When he won people were crying and literally dancing in the streets. Now people aren't saying ANYTHING about him at all. Hmm.

Except for some liberal Europeans, Obama is seen around the world as a weak leader. The Muslim world has contempt for him. I fear that it's just a matter of time before we have another terrorist attack.

The President may reasonably expect his popularity poll numbers to drop after election; especially numbers which were so high and reflected good will and an appreciation that he was taking on some very tough issues. But I think his popularity is continuing to decline because of what is now exposed to the public: his political philosophy and operating style. A president can't get by or accomplish great things just by rhetoric. He campaigned as a moderate and clearly thinks and decides as a far left liberal. He's overexposed himself with numerous addresses and speeches and in all of them he comes across as lecturer-in-chief; the professor. If it's good news, it's "I," "I," "I;" so much so, that he almost sounds like a Carmen Miranda albumn. If it's bad news, then it's "them," or the last administration, etc. Even when he finally used Give'em Hell Harry's "buck stops here" on the Christmas Day terrorist attempt, he came across as blaming others, this or that agency, etc.; never accepting that his appointees and their management may be at fault. Looking forward to the long term effects of "his" initiatives is also problematic. He pretty much left crafting health care to the House and Senate, so no one could clearly claim to understand his health care bill; frankly he didn't have one. Most of the posters here seem to get their news from a small pool. The vitriol is bizarre. I don't think there is a real grasp of reality in most of these posts. Obama isn't doing a great job. But, I recall him walking into a house that was on fire. I'm not going to get personal and juvenile and shout out like the sky is falling. I want him to succeed and make our country stronger. I thought W was also ill prepared for the job but, I wished him and the country well.

My God, Bush took us into Iraq! If we had that money back, we could have universal health care paid for! It didn't keep us safe, it made it worse. Bush did great work on AID's, I supported his move into Afghanistan and I even admired that he put a special prosecutor to investigate his own administration when accusations of outing a CIA agent came to light. Bush seems like a nice guy who was voted into office twice. I may have disagreed with his policies at times, but I would never resort to the ignorant hate filled ideological rants I've read hear. It is that blind lock-step follower mentality that allowed the banks to take the economy off the cliff. We, as Americans should try to work through our differences with respect and understanding. You might think that the USA is a terrible place to live right now, except for everywhere else. The way things are going on this site, I'll be lambasted for trying to inject some reason and a plea that, no matter how strong our differences, we are all Americans that need each other. Calling people traitors, and immature, hate filled names, do little to move the ball forward in a positive way. I will leave now and go look for a place on the net where some thoughtful and educated adults might be trying to actually solve the problems we all share. It certainly isn't here.

During a recent Christmas show with Oprah Winfrey, the President gave himself, "a good solid B plus for my first year in office". Surely this President is delusional, (and as some have noted. psychologically narcissistic as well). Among others, the middle class in America have been (economically) decimated and are becoming increasingly uneasy, frustrated, disappointed and agitated as they watch the opportunities & wealth they once thought they had be taken away from them due to the policies of this President and administration. Many wanted this ('historic' first "black") president to succeed, but it will not happen.

Simply stated, and despite his (affirmative action, equal opportunity) Ivy League education (in Constitutional law no less), President Obama simply does not have the patriotic desire, knowledge and real life experience to be a leader, President and,(of all things),the Commander in Chief who deserves the respect of our military (or foreign nations).

Obama has never had a real job other than being a street agitator and Ivy League shake down attorney for A.C.O.R.N. He seldom would even vote for or against any state (IL) or federal legislation, rather voting "present" so that nothing would "stick" to him. It also is a fact that if Obama had been ‘white’ that there is little chance he would have attained what prominence he has attained. Again, strong words, but truth is the defense and cannot be denied.

You see, it takes more than skin color and ones ability to give a good speech and display what has been described as the "razzle dazzle" to the American people. To be competent as the President of our country that President has to first love this Country and the democratic principles on which it was founded rather than apologize for her. Against the oath he took to uphold The Constitution, Obama, (and his administration and the Democratic Congress), are doing all they can to trample The Constitution and force this country to Socialism as more and more of its citizens are forced into dependency upon the government (welfare state), in their desire to get "their fair share". Obama calls it, 'redistributing the (your) wealth to its rightful owner'. How's that for individual, democracy, liberty, freedom and self determination? Obama wallows in, (and gains much support from), the notion that many Americans deserve their "fair share". Dennis Praeger, (national talk show host), recently noted that, "the largest source of evil is the perception that one is a victim". Isn't this really how Obama sees himself, i.e. a 'victim' out to 'set things right'?

Clearly one of Obama's goals as a liberal and socialist is to promulgate class warfare, envy (poor against 'rich')(failures against the successful), and of one being a 'victim' and therefore deserving of your fair share (of others successes and wealth). This is not "social justice". It simply will be failure.

It is clear...Obama's delusion with himself and his domestic as well as foreign policy failures (and our legislators that support him) are becoming increasingly more dangerous for America and that we as Americans will defend our democratic principles of freedom, right to self determination, free speech, liberty, The Constitution and other founding documents, our English speaking Judeo - Christian heritage, culture & traditions.

Staffers for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform say Geithner is confirmed to appear at a hearing Jan. 27 on the bailout of American International Group Inc.

The committee wants to know why the Federal Reserve Bank of New York paid banks to cancel their contracts with AIG and didn't demand concessions. The deals might have cost taxpayers billions more than necessary.

An earlier watchdog report said Geithner approved the decisions as president of the New York Fed.

The staffers spoke anonymously because they are not authorized to discuss Geithner's plans.

I am a conservative, and I strongly believe in the principles in Constitutional Conservatism. This current administration is the gravest threat to our Republic, more than any terrorists wishing harm on us, or a natural disaster bound to happen (knock on wood). Last time I checked, our ELECTED officials were supposed to work for us, not the other way around. Some here say that OhBummer's critics are all racists and bigots and should "go away." Granted that there are white [and black and yellow and brown] racists on the planet --- but that doesn't make OhBummer's critics "racists." I was in Grant Park the night Obama won. It was truly an experience and the optimizing was palatable.
