This seems like just a grudge match on JD's part. McCain's seat is safe from any Democrat challenger; why doesn't JD run for the seat he lost to Democrat Harry Mitchell, and help increase our control in Congress, rather than replace a sitting Republican?

Deakin looks interesting though, and worth watching. I have the highest respect and esteem for McCain; if anyone has earned the right to speak (and vote) his conscience, it's McCain. But while I love McCain's fiscal conservatism and support for our troops, and more recently how strongly he's fought Obama's agenda, sometimes his policies just don't work for me.

Joe doesn't "make" prisoners live in tents, it the only way he can afford to house them. It started a long time ago with Joe enforcing the law and not coddling prisoners. I to agree that McCain needs to move on. I felt totally let down by the way that he ran his campgain in 08, sitting on the fence and falling which ever way the wind blows does not cut it anymore. I don't live in Arizona, but I wish California had a sheriff Joe. I have always respected McCain for his service in Nam, almost all of the Senators have been in office too long. When they stop serving the people they should be removed. I know the Dem side needs to be brought to its knees.

McCain was born on a military base in germany, that does qualify him as a Nationally Born US Citizen, as the US Military bases outside of the US are "Soverign US Territory".

They say you are a product of your environment. When I look at McCain's environment, I see his daughter blasting Palin & his wife supporting GLAAD. Yeah, he's been a little too far left for me anyway but running his campaign like a "gentleman" and not addressing the Obamamania was over the top. And besides, only a liberal in conservatives clothing would not like Sheriff Joe.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio seems like a decent and smart person to me. He does his job in a humane way, and also tries to improve the lives of the prisoners in his charge with education opportunities. And he protects the taxpayers by having the prisoners live as many of us who served in the military did.
