I just got back from China. I met with some party members on a business deal, and let me tell you, they know Obama is weak. The Chinese are going to take advantage of that. Obama has put our nation at risk, but actually I blame the fools who elected him.

I don't like Obama or his policies of cronyism, back room dealing, outright misrepresentations and his apparent complete and total lack of understanding of how business fits into America and our hopes and dreams. But I don't think it's appropriate to malign his wife or even himself by name calling. Judicial Watch Announces List of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” for 2009

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released its 2009 list of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians.” The list, in alphabetical order, includes:

1. Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT): This marks two years in a row for Senator Dodd, who made the 2008 “Ten Most Corrupt” list for his corrupt relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and for accepting preferential treatment and loan terms from Countrywide Financial, a scandal which still dogs him. In 2009, the scandals kept coming for the Connecticut Democrat. In 2009, Judicial Watch filed a Senate ethics complaint against Dodd for undervaluing a property he owns in Ireland on his Senate Financial Disclosure forms. Judicial Watch’s complaint forced Dodd to amend the forms. However, press reports suggest the property to this day remains undervalued. Judicial Watch also alleges in the complaint that Dodd obtained a sweetheart deal for the property in exchange for his assistance in obtaining a presidential pardon (during the Clinton administration) and other favors for a long-time friend and business associate. The false financial disclosure forms were part of the cover-up. Dodd remains the head the Senate Banking Committee.

2. Senator John Ensign (R-NV): A number of scandals popped up in 2009 involving public officials who conducted illicit affairs, and then attempted to cover them up with hush payments and favors, an obvious abuse of power. The year’s worst offender might just be Nevada Republican Senator John Ensign. Ensign admitted in June to an extramarital affair with the wife of one of his staff members, who then allegedly obtained special favors from the Nevada Republican in exchange for his silence. According to The New York Times: “The Justice Department and the Senate Ethics Committee are expected to conduct preliminary inquiries into whether Senator John Ensign violated federal law or ethics rules as part of an effort to conceal an affair with the wife of an aide…” The former staffer, Douglas Hampton, began to lobby Mr. Ensign’s office immediately upon leaving his congressional job, despite the fact that he was subject to a one-year lobbying ban. Ensign seems to have ignored the law and allowed Hampton lobbying access to his office as a payment for his silence about the affair. (These are potentially criminal offenses.) It looks as if Ensign misused his public office (and taxpayer resources) to cover up his sexual shenanigans.

3. Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA): Judicial Watch is investigating a $12 million TARP cash injection provided to the Boston-based OneUnited Bank at the urging of Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank. As reported in the January 22, 2009, edition of the Wall Street Journal, the Treasury Department indicated it would only provide funds to healthy banks to jump-start lending. Not only was OneUnited Bank in massive financial turmoil, but it was also “under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses, including owning a Porsche for its executives’ use.” Rep. Frank admitted he spoke to a “federal regulator,” and Treasury granted the funds. (The bank continues to flounder despite Frank’s intervention for federal dollars.) Moreover, Judicial Watch uncovered documents in 2009 that showed that members of Congress for years were aware that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were playing fast and loose with accounting issues, risk assessment issues and executive compensation issues, even as liberals led by Rep. Frank continued to block attempts to rein in the two Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs). For example, during a hearing on September 10, 2003, before the House Committee on Financial Services considering a Bush administration proposal to further regulate Fannie and Freddie, Rep. Frank stated: “I want to begin by saying that I am glad to consider the legislation, but I do not think we are facing any kind of a crisis. That is, in my view, the two Government Sponsored Enterprises we are talking about here, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not in a crisis. We have recently had an accounting problem with Freddie Mac that has led to people being dismissed, as appears to be appropriate. I do not think at this point there is a problem with a threat to the Treasury.” Frank received $42,350 in campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac between 1989 and 2008. Frank also engaged in a relationship with a Fannie Mae Executive while serving on the House Banking Committee, which has jurisdiction over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

4. Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner: In 2009, Obama Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner admitted that he failed to pay $34,000 in Social Security and Medicare taxes from 2001-2004 on his lucrative salary at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), an organization with 185 member countries that oversees the global financial system. (Did we mention Geithner now runs the IRS?) It wasn’t until President Obama tapped Geithner to head the Treasury Department that he paid back most of the money, although the IRS kindly waived the hefty penalties. In March 2009, Geithner also came under fire for his handling of the AIG bonus scandal, where the company used $165 million of its bailout funds to pay out executive bonuses, resulting in a massive public backlash. Of course as head of the New York Federal Reserve, Geithner helped craft the AIG deal in September 2008. However, when the AIG scandal broke, Geithner claimed he knew nothing of the bonuses until March 10, 2009. The timing is important. According to CNN: “Although Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told congressional leaders on Tuesday that he learned of AIG’s impending $160 million bonus payments to members of its troubled financial-products unit on March 10, sources tell TIME that the New York Federal Reserve informed Treasury staff that the payments were imminent on Feb. 28. That is ten days before Treasury staffers say they first learned ‘full details’ of the bonus plan, and three days before the [Obama] Administration launched a new $30 billion infusion of cash for AIG.” Throw in another embarrassing disclosure in 2009 that Geithner employed “household help” ineligible to work in the United States, and it becomes clear why the Treasury Secretary has earned a spot on the “Ten Most Corrupt Politicians in Washington” list.

5. Attorney General Eric Holder: Tim Geithner can be sure he won’t be hounded about his tax-dodging by his colleague Eric Holder, US Attorney General. Judicial Watch strongly opposed Holder because of his terrible ethics record, which includes: obstructing an FBI investigation of the theft of nuclear secrets from Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory; rejecting multiple requests for an independent counsel to investigate alleged fundraising abuses by then-Vice President Al Gore in the Clinton White House; undermining the criminal investigation of President Clinton by Kenneth Starr in the midst of the Lewinsky investigation; and planning the violent raid to seize then-six-year-old Elian Gonzalez at gunpoint in order to return him to Castro’s Cuba. Moreover, there is his soft record on terrorism. Holder bypassed Justice Department procedures to push through Bill Clinton’s scandalous presidential pardons and commutations, including for 16 members of FALN, a violent Puerto Rican terrorist group that orchestrated approximately 120 bombings in the United States, killing at least six people and permanently maiming dozens of others, including law enforcement officers. His record in the current administration is no better. As he did during the Clinton administration, Holder continues to ignore serious incidents of corruption that could impact his political bosses at the White House. For example, Holder has refused to investigate charges that the Obama political machine traded VIP access to the White House in exchange for campaign contributions – a scheme eerily similar to one hatched by Holder’s former boss, Bill Clinton in the 1990s. The Holder Justice Department also came under fire for dropping a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party. On Election Day 2008, Black Panthers dressed in paramilitary garb threatened voters as they approached polling stations. Holder has also failed to initiate a comprehensive Justice investigation of the notorious organization ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), which is closely tied to President Obama. There were allegedly more than 400,000 fraudulent ACORN voter registrations in the 2008 campaign. And then there were the journalist videos catching ACORN Housing workers advising undercover reporters on how to evade tax, immigration, and child prostitution laws. Holder’s controversial decisions on new rights for terrorists and his attacks on previous efforts to combat terrorism remind many of the fact that his former law firm has provided and continues to provide pro bono representation to terrorists at Guantanamo Bay. Holder’s politicization of the Justice Department makes one long for the days of Alberto Gonzales.

6. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL)/ Senator Roland Burris (D-IL): One of the most serious scandals of 2009 involved a scheme by former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to sell President Obama’s then-vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder. Two men caught smack dab in the middle of the scandal: Senator Roland Burris, who ultimately got the job, and Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, emissaries for Jesse Jackson Jr., named “Senate Candidate A” in the Blagojevich indictment, reportedly offered $1.5 million to Blagojevich during a fundraiser if he named Jackson Jr. to Obama’s seat. Three days later federal authorities arrested Blagojevich. Burris, for his part, apparently lied about his contacts with Blagojevich, who was arrested in December 2008 for trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat. According to Reuters: “Roland Burris came under fresh scrutiny…after disclosing he tried to raise money for the disgraced former Illinois governor who named him to the U.S. Senate seat once held by President Barack Obama…In the latest of those admissions, Burris said he looked into mounting a fundraiser for Rod Blagojevich — later charged with trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat — at the same time he was expressing interest to the then-governor’s aides about his desire to be appointed.” Burris changed his story five times regarding his contacts with Blagojevich prior to the Illinois governor appointing him to the U.S. Senate. Three of those changing explanations came under oath.

7. President Barack Obama: During his presidential campaign, President Obama promised to run an ethical and transparent administration. However, in his first year in office, the President has delivered corruption and secrecy, bringing Chicago-style political corruption to the White House. Consider just a few Obama administration “lowlights” from year one: Even before President Obama was sworn into office, he was interviewed by the FBI for a criminal investigation of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s scheme to sell the President’s former Senate seat to the highest bidder. (Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and slumlord Valerie Jarrett, both from Chicago, are also tangled up in the Blagojevich scandal.) Moreover, the Obama administration made the startling claim that the Privacy Act does not apply to the White House. The Obama White House believes it can violate the privacy rights of American citizens without any legal consequences or accountability. President Obama boldly proclaimed that “transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency,” but his administration is addicted to secrecy, stonewalling far too many of Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act requests and is refusing to make public White House visitor logs as federal law requires. The Obama administration turned the National Endowment of the Arts (as well as the agency that runs the AmeriCorps program) into propaganda machines, using tax dollars to persuade “artists” to promote the Obama agenda. According to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch, the idea emerged as a direct result of the Obama campaign and enjoyed White House approval and participation. President Obama has installed a record number of “czars” in positions of power. Too many of these individuals are leftist radicals who answer to no one but the president. And too many of the czars are not subject to Senate confirmation (which raises serious constitutional questions). Under the President’s bailout schemes, the federal government continues to appropriate or control — through fiat and threats — large sectors of the private economy, prompting conservative columnist George Will to write: “The administration’s central activity — the political allocation of wealth and opportunity — is not merely susceptible to corruption, it is corruption.” Government-run healthcare and car companies, White House coercion, uninvestigated ACORN corruption, debasing his office to help Chicago cronies, attacks on conservative media and the private sector, unprecedented and dangerous new rights for terrorists, perks for campaign donors – this is Obama’s “ethics” record — and we haven’t even gotten through the first year of his presidency.

8. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): At the heart of the corruption problem in Washington is a sense of entitlement. Politicians believe laws and rules (even the U.S. Constitution) apply to the rest of us but not to them. Case in point: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her excessive and boorish demands for military travel. Judicial Watch obtained documents from the Pentagon in 2008 that suggest Pelosi has been treating the Air Force like her own personal airline. These documents, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, include internal Pentagon email correspondence detailing attempts by Pentagon staff to accommodate Pelosi’s numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft as well as the speaker’s 11th hour cancellations and changes. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also came under fire in April 2009, when she claimed she was never briefed about the CIA’s use of the waterboarding technique during terrorism investigations. The CIA produced a report documenting a briefing with Pelosi on September 4, 2002, that suggests otherwise. Judicial Watch also obtained documents, including a CIA Inspector General report, which further confirmed that Congress was fully briefed on the enhanced interrogation techniques. Aside from her own personal transgressions, Nancy Pelosi has ignored serious incidents of corruption within her own party, including many of the individuals on this list. (See Rangel, Murtha, Jesse Jackson, Jr., etc.)

9. Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) and the rest of the PMA Seven: Rep. John Murtha made headlines in 2009 for all the wrong reasons. The Pennsylvania congressman is under federal investigation for his corrupt relationship with the now-defunct defense lobbyist PMA Group. PMA, founded by a former Murtha associate, has been the congressman’s largest campaign contributor. Since 2002, Murtha has raised $1.7 million from PMA and its clients. And what did PMA and its clients receive from Murtha in return for their generosity? Earmarks — tens of millions of dollars in earmarks. In fact, even with all of the attention surrounding his alleged influence peddling, Murtha kept at it. Following an FBI raid of PMA’s offices earlier in 2009, Murtha continued to seek congressional earmarks for PMA clients, while also hitting them up for campaign contributions. According to The Hill, in April, “Murtha reported receiving contributions from three former PMA clients for whom he requested earmarks in the pending appropriations bills.” When it comes to the PMA scandal, Murtha is not alone. As many as six other Members of Congress are currently under scrutiny according to The Washington Post. They include: Peter J. Visclosky (D-IN.), James P. Moran Jr. (D-VA), Norm Dicks (D-WA.), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), C.W. Bill Young (R-FL.) and Todd Tiahrt (R-KS.). Of course rather than investigate this serious scandal, according to Roll Call House Democrats circled the wagons, “cobbling together a defense to offer political cover to their rank and file.” The Washington Post also reported in 2009 that Murtha’s nephew received $4 million in Defense Department no-bid contracts: “Newly obtained documents…show Robert Murtha mentioning his influential family connection as leverage in his business dealings and holding unusual power with the military.”

10. Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY): Rangel, the man in charge of writing tax policy for the entire country, has yet to adequately explain how he could possibly “forget” to pay taxes on $75,000 in rental income he earned from his off-shore rental property. He also faces allegations that he improperly used his influence to maintain ownership of highly coveted rent-controlled apartments in Harlem, and misused his congressional office to fundraise for his private Rangel Center by preserving a tax loophole for an oil drilling company in exchange for funding. On top of all that, Rangel recently amended his financial disclosure reports, which doubled his reported wealth. (He somehow “forgot” about $1 million in assets.) And what did he do when the House Ethics Committee started looking into all of this? He apparently resorted to making “campaign contributions” to dig his way out of trouble. According to WCBS TV, a New York CBS affiliate: “The reigning member of Congress’ top tax committee is apparently ‘wrangling’ other politicos to get him out of his own financial and tax troubles…Since ethics probes began last year the 79-year-old congressman has given campaign donations to 119 members of Congress, including three of the five Democrats on the House Ethics Committee who are charged with investigating him.” Charlie Rangel should not be allowed to remain in Congress, let alone serve as Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, and he knows it. That’s why he felt the need to disburse campaign contributions to Ethics Committee members and other congressional colleagues.

I think many of you may not understand Ron's allusion to "typical Black person" comment, which he placed in quotes. Okay, finally the vast majority of the American people recognize that they were conned in Nov. 2008. It's like this. A slick talking guy applies for the position of CEO of a huge company. A majority of the board of directors (that's us) thought he sounded good, even though he wouldn't produce very basic records that some of the board members wanted to see, and had associations that troubled some. So he gets the job, then he drives the company's performance and stock price into the ground. The board realizes that they've got a big, big problem, but the CEO has a four year contract. What do you do? There are two options: You look real, real hard into his background to see if you can find evidence that he misrepresented himself. You get everything. Birth records, academic records, everything. If it turns out he lied about something, you fire him for fraud and misrepresentation. Option 2 is you look at everything he'd done since being appointed CEO and see if he's given you grounds to fire him for cause (that would be impeachment). I think both routes could be used to sack this clown.

3. Charge Medicare smokers more, consistent with private insurer smoker rates. The arrogance of a government cared for smoker is unacceptable.
4. Long term, create a flat tax system that will make everyone pay something. Now, 50% pay nothing. Perhaps a national sales tax will be a good thing. The rich are leaving, and will continue to if changes in the tax code don't come.

The kinds of questions they use in these polls is what keeps the approval rating as high as it is. For example, they ask, "Has Obama met your expectations?"

Well, Yes he has. This kind of crap is exactly what I expected of him. But if I answer yes, it makes it look as if he is doing better. There is no accounting for the fact that meeting expectations is not always something to be viewed in a positive light.

Poll questions should be more straight forward, maybe instead of whether he has done bettter or worse than I expected, because he has done exactly as I expected, the question should be, "Is Barrack Hussein Obama taking the right path or wrong path for America?"

He dropped the ball all together on establishing an alternative to "enhanced interrogation" as was demonstrated by the Christmas bomber not being interrogated by the team Obama promised to establish last August.

And you wonder why independents are not happy?

Then add the transparency promises: no lobbyists in government, no back room negotiations with industry, no ear marks, text of bills visible 72 hours on the Internet before any votes, full C-SPAN coverage of Health Care negotiations, etc. etc. etc.

It is amazing this guy is so blind of what he has done that he still prefers to appear in campaign style set-piece "town halls" on TV!

One accomplishment: he IS the most transparent President in one way.... we can see right through him!

Independents will keep swinging between the two Parties (and NOT funding them directly) until they have been defeated enough times that they finally realize that spin and false promises no longer work. You are going to have to move past your accusations of racism. Like it or not, most of America is not racist. How could Obama have been elected if most whites hated blacks?

What we do hate is having a president who runs around the world apologizing for our country. We hate hearing our former president constantly being trashed for doing the best he knew how to do in a difficult job. We hate that someone who really doesn't understand the concept of free market capitalism is trying to impose destined-to-fail government solutions on most of our economic problems. We hate that the ruling party is deaf to our pleas to leave the healthcare system alone. I hope it doesn't happen, but I think he may very well be re-elected. The economy will probably be improving and unemployment going down by the next prez election (as the natural business cycle improves, and not because of anything Bam Bam and the dems are doing).

I don't pay a lot of attention to polls, but I do give some credit to Scott Rasmussen. He said that 53%..........only 53% after all that has happened................ would vote for someone else if the election was held today; and, 46% said they would vote for Obama again.

Repubs may very well be in control of one or both houses of congress by 2012, or the houses will be evenly divided between repubs and dems. As happened with Clinton, many of those 53% above may decide that a repub congress can keep Obama in check. The scary part is that he is the one with primary control of foreign policy and law enforcement powers.

Also, itt was a few short years ago that repubs controlled both houses and the presidency. What a mess they made of things. I don't believe the voters will forget about that so soon, and that again makes the case for their inclination toward a divided government.

Add to that all of the touchy/feely people who will find it very hard to vote out our first black president, and I think his chances are pretty good. That is, unless there is another major attack on us on our soil.

Who Is To Blame For US And Global Economic Meltdown?

In 1995 at the request of Obama and ACORN the Clinton administration revised the Community Reinvestment Act to permit sub-prime loans for high risk low income home loan candidates. The Clinton administration then via the Federal Reserve made trillions of dollars available to Fannie and Freddie for lending to high risk low income home loan candidates. Obama, ACORN and the Clinton administration then pushed Fannie and Freddie to increase lending to high risk low income home loan candidates while Barney Frank was rejecting the Bush administrations request for tighter Fannie and Freddie lending regulations.

In 2001, sub-prime loans totaled $330 billion, or about 15% of all loans. By 2005, they had reached $1.4 trillion, or 48%. Fannie and Freddie owned or guaranteed more than half of the nations $12 trillion in home mortgages. By 2006 they reached near 70% - a record. But it came at a price. With the trillions of money in circulation the Federal Reserve had to control inflation by increasing the prime interest rates in 2004 through 2006. The sub prime adjustable mortgage interest rates therefore increased exponentially. As a result, the low income high risk homeowners increasingly couldn’t make their adjustable mortgage payments. The housing industry fell apart and many banks were left holding billions in underwater mortgages. Home prices fell, and homeowners suddenly found themselves with no more equity to borrow on. The low income high risk homeowners that paid “little to nothing down” had no downside risk preventing them from walking and the resulting foreclosures. With the trillions of dollars from the government, Fannie and Freddie now redefined as government owned institutions were also left holding trillions of dollars in underwater loans. So what did the “to big to fail” Fannie, Freddie and investment institutions do but warehouse the underwater loans and short-sale them as Grade A to foreign banks and investment institutions.

The collective combination of Obama, ACORN, Clinton pressuring Fannie and Freddie to make more high risk low income home loans and Frank rejecting the Bush administrations and Greenspan pleas for tighter bank lending regulations resulted in the home foreclosures, which caused bank cash flow problems, which caused banks freezing loans, which caused business cash flow problems, which caused layoffs, which caused more foreclosures, which caused more bank cash flow problems, which caused more banks freezing loans, which caused more business cash flow problems, which caused more layoffs, which caused more foreclosures, which caused even more ………and now the same people that caused the global meltdown are blaming anyone but themselves!!!!!

As for other solutions:
1) Replace the current income tax system with spending tax system
2) Eliminate adjustable mortgage/loans
3) Require at minimum 10% down to qualify for home loans
4) Implement tax cuts
5) Implement severe penalties for white collar crimes
6) Eliminate spending earmarks
7) Eliminate the Federal Reserve practice of printing non-secured money
8) Ensure all budgets include funding proposals and business plans
9) Anything that does what a bank does and has to be bailed out because they're too big to fail must be regulated like a bank
10) Currency printed by the Federal Reserve must be paid back to the Federal Reserve/Taxpayer
11) A bipartison Congessional committee must audit the Regulators and independent Federal Reserve

It's sad that the Republicans haven't been able to put someone in the forefront that can really articulate to the American people how disastrous Obama really is. Scott Brown seems, so far, to be the best at that, as far as politicians on the Right. For me, the last straw was Obama referring to "CorPsmen," pronouncing the "p." But the Monday before the primary I heard "reverand" Lowry intorduce Michelle at Charlotte NC, and she was saying "Amen Brother" "Right on" etc when "Reverand" Lowry was saying the whats a nation where "black is not held back, red can get ahead, yellow can mellow, and WHITE WOULD SEE THE LIGHT". (He gave almost the exact same racist statement in the innaguration prayer, seriously read it, its there, look it up). So I voted for Hillary in the primary.

That "reverand" negated all the sacrafices than whites have made to fight for equal rights, and Michelle was right there, cheering him on. My dad was injured in Greensboro riots in the 1960, when he was just taking a african-american friend home. I get dumped after getting engaged after a 4 year relationship because to her parents, who lived far away and barely knew me, to them I was just an "Evil White man". And this Reverand lumps all whites into a generic bucket, it was disgusting.

Right then and there I decided to research the Obamas, so I read one of his books, VERY informative about his views on race. (For instance: He states that he agreed with his black nationalist friend Rafiks views, just questioned his effectiveness. Black nationalist views obama stated were that whites are to blame for ALL blacks drugging, stealing, etc). I read Michelle's Princton thesis, and she couldn't understand why her black classmates didn't hold her same racial views. I can we thankfully are becoming ONE community, AMERICA. She wants to prop up just the "black community", her peers THANKFULLY didn't share her racial views.

Michelle Obama was asked in an interview about if she was worried about her husband being assasinated, and she replied something like: "As a black man he can get shot just going to the gas station." Percentage wise she is right blacks kill blacks at the highest rate, when whites kill whites, then blacks kill whites, and the lowest is whites kill blacks. But that was not what she was saying, and you can still see that interview on youtube to know exactly what she meant.

So since he was elected:
1) Obama sent Robert Reich to represent Obama to closed door hearings where republicans weren't allowed for the "Stimulus bill". In there Mr Reich said he didnt want the jobs to go simply to white males, "its not that I have anything againt white male construction workers its just there are others who could benefit from these jobs, the long term unemployeed, minorities, women, others." And he said: "formulas could be put in place to ensure this would happen" This is still on c-span archives on Jan 7th I believe.
2) He nominated Sotomayor, who says a latina woman with a rich heritage would make better judgements than a white man.
3) Made Van Jones his Green Jobs resource. He said that whites directed polluted water into minority communities, etc, etc.
4) Passed judgement on a white police officer even though he addmittedly didn't have all the facts.

Expectations? I expected what I read in "The Obama Timeline," by Don Fredrick. It is quite enlightening.

Its crazy how Republicans don't like hearing George W. Bush name come up all the time, they act like George W. Bush was never the President, and when they do talk about him they talk about him like he is some sort of hero who liberated Iraq from a terrible Dictator. Then have Shoes thrown at him for doing so. They never say that George W. Bush thrash the economy, they just blame Obama for everything yes Obama pass a stimulus bill so did George W. Bush. I'm a Democrat who thought Jimmy Carter was a bad President. Why can't Republicans admit that Bush was a bad one instead of trying to act like Bush never existed and it was Clintons fault on why the economy is so bad. # Spending, the last time we had a balanced budget was under Clinton, the National Debt under Bush doubled, started at $5 trillion and ended up being over $10. Obama has put signed 1 budget so far that had already been negotiated when he took office. Yes he pushed the stimulus bill which was a huge expense, But 30% went to tax cuts, 30% went to extend unemployment benefits, neither one of these seem like terrible MARXIST moves. And guess what? The economy is recovering, unemployment is down in latest jobs report and we just had a great 4th Quarter. So yes, he has increased the deficit, but to have the government put less $ into the economy at a low time would compound the negative situation.

In order to lower the deficit for the long term, it is pretty simple, need a combination of more tax revenue and we need to lower entitlement benefits, I for one have written my congressman and have encouraged entitlement reform and have told him I support having 50% less of my social security $ if my fellow Americans join me in this.

Go Obama, that's just an educational resume, and doesn't necessarily mean one is qualified to be president. Jimmy Carter had one of the highest IQ's of any leader to that point (he was involved with nuclear engineering, I believe), and yet he was a DUNCE as president. As for Obama in the US Senate, that was just a rush-through springboard to the top...he wasn't even there, half that time because he was busy campaigning!

And the 'dropping' unemployment number...that happens when you have a drastically shrunken work force to crunch the numbers from, and untold numbers of folks who've given up even looking for work and/or whose benefits have run out. At the same time the numbers supposedly 'dropped,' we lost TWENTY THOUSAND more jobs! That's utterly contradictory...and it's stuff like this that has literally DRIVEN independents like me AWAY from Obama, in politically DANGEROUS numbers. Obama said his stimulus would get unemployment below 8% LAST YEAR. We're STILL waiting for that.

As far as unemployment goes, this is the measurement we have in general agreed to use. With over 300 Million people in our country well more than 20,000 people can/ will retire in any given month. So this is how your contradiction can work,

A large portion of the jobs lost were prior to Obama even taking the oath of office, huge losses 12/08 524,000 Lost, 1/09 598,000 lost, 2/09 851,000 lost. Can you honestly blame Obama for any of these numbers? Yes he was in office 2/09 but what policy did he implement that caused 851,000 jobs lost? The reality is these were leftover, and as they were planning the stimulus NO NONE thought that these jobs results would be this bad, I recall watching Hannity during this period downplaying the recession he was saying that it was not even as bad as what we deal with in the late 70's

Telephone polls would be, and are, consistently manipulated:

- The wording of the questions.
- The locations of houses polled (inner cities vs. rural areas), locations can affect opinions more than political affiliation.
- The emphasis the pollster puts on certain words in the question.
- If the questions ask about an unpopular figure who happens to be a minority, and the pollsters sound as though they are minorities from voice tonal or accents, it could dramatically affect the honesty of the answers of some. And vice versa, if the candidate is white, and the pollster sounds white, that could potentially affect minorities answers.

So there are several variables that the polling firms can intentionally or unintentionally use to skew the results.

Where I live, my state went for Obama slightly, and anecdotally it appears like almost no one is proud of their votes for Obama, and the Obama bumper stickers are disappearing fast, except for the "Obummer", etc mocking Obama.

I'm sure in New York, DC, or other major city the results would be far different.

So around here that poll would be far too generous for Obama, but elsewhere it could be different.

Obama just a few weeks ago ended America's manned space program. No other president has even contemplated doing this in the last 50 years. This may be the one thing that ruins his presidency. If America loses its technological leadership then it is over and we might as well become Sweden.

Let's also compare current stratospheric unemployment rates to the 4.7% average during Bush, when there were 52 months uninterrupted job growth (the longest in history) and 6 years GDP+. Things started turning to $h!+ when the Democrat politicians (which includes 0bama) seized control of congress.

This is my first read of the this web site. I heard it on the radio. I try to stay out of politics, because I am in the Military. I would like to see many things come from the war on terror. Close our boarders(for now) to get a handle on the people that are here. Stop giving out money to other countries(excluding humanitarian aid) to help balance our own checkbook. forget about the health care thing for now. It would not take that long for america to get our debt paid off and then start working on programs to help the people. We have lived this long without national health care, we can make it a few more years. Lets fix SS and taxes first. We should get rid of the current tax program and go to a flat tax rate for all. No matter how much you earn. That would get rid of all of the lobbiests and special interests groups. Stop interfereing with free trade, let the people decide that a CEO is getting paid too much money for their performance. Biggest thing, we need to curb spending and stop borrowing money.
