Poll: Boxer Suddenly In Trouble
A day after Sen. Barbara Boxer's (D-CA) camp announced that Pres. Obama would be traveling to Los Angeles for a joint fundraiser next month, a new Field Poll shows Boxer locked in tight races with each of the GOPers vying to challenge her in Nov.
Ex-Rep. Tom Campbell (R) leads the GOP field, posting a 6-point advantage over ex-Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (R). But Campbell, Fiorina and Assemb. Chuck DeVore (R) each run virtually even with Boxer in general-election matchups.
The Field Poll surveyed 748 likely voters from Mar. 9-15, with a margin of error of +/- 3.6%. There was an oversample of 353 likely GOP primary voters, with a margin of error of +/- 5.2%.

Boxer's favorability has taken a big hit. A majority, 51%, of likely voters now view her unfavorably, with only 38% having a favorable impression of the incumbent. In the previous poll, taken in Jan., 48% viewed Boxer favorably, with 39% having an unfavorable image of her.
The GOP candidates remain little-known, with a majority of likely voters having no opinion of each of them.
"I could have put your name against Boxer, and you'd have gotten half the votes," Field Poll dir. Mark DiCamillo told a McClatchy reporter. "It's really not about the candidates themselves."
In a possible sign of Dems' concern over Boxer's re-election, the Boxer camp announced late yesterday that Obama would attend a joint fundraiser for their camp and the DNC in mid-April, though details have not yet been finalized.
The poll's findings are consistent with numbers released yesterday in the GOV race that showed ex-eBay CEO Meg Whitman (R) claiming a slight lead over AG/ex-Gov. Jerry Brown (D).
The GOP primary, meanwhile, remains fairly open, with 41% of likely voters still undecided. Fiorina leads among Boomers, but Campbell runs stronger with voters 65 and older. In Jan., Campbell held a similar, 5-point lead over Fiorina, just days after switching from the GOV race to challenge Boxer.

It's all unraveling around Democrats, and they still seem to be in denial. Boxer, Reid, and many others will be defeated in November, to which I say "thank you" to the voters of these states!

The Democrats will only lose the House and Senate if conservatives vote. It won't magically happen just because everyone despises the Democrats.

We need to make sure that folks don't land on their feet. I.e., if Boxer is voted out, but gets a fat directorship at Big Company XYZ, we should call the company to complain and to tell them that we're shopping at the competitor due to their affiliation with Boxer. Etc. We can't tar-and-feather folks anymore, but we can still make people pariahs.

Voters do not realized that the legislation held up by Senator Boxer in 2008 on a states rights that passed the house 395-7 could have had a major impact on helping our economy and provided secure jobs for all Americans. A recent report prepared for the 111th congress tells how strong Federal ballast water laws may cause the cost of foreign manufactured imported goods to rise due to retrofiting, mainly foreign ships. State laws are not enforceable or strong enough when the Coast Guard has their own agenda and another state makes it cheaper at their ports. Senator Boxer has not tried to introduce new Federal legislation that would satisfy her state rights objection in 2008. Now we have this administration appearing to be happy with the Military Coast Guard plan that follows the International Maritime Organization for the next decade with China the biggest ship builders in the world as a major member of the IMO playing a part in our environmental laws. Is the reason we are not working on this because: previous administrations have set up and arrangement allowing China to peg the value they want for their currency to ours so then China can bid at “competative” auctions in the world markets on the treasury notes we keep issuing paying squat in interest, so then we are able to finance debt and entitlements while ever increasing our national debt, while cheap consumer goods can be negotiated for our big box outlet stores who are our countries largest employers? President Obama ought to worry about Senator Boxer and himself if he continues in this direction as a way to create jobs.
