NRSC Survey Shows Miller Over 50
AK attorney Joe Miller may not be thrilled with the NRSC, but the party committee is spending money to prove Miller's candidacy isn't doomed if he prevails over Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R).
A new survey conducted for the NRSC shows Miller leading Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams (D) by a 52%-36% margin. And other metrics in the Last Frontier skew the race heavily in Miller's favor, even after other surveys show he begins his race as an unpopular contender.
Fully 57% say they want a GOPer to provide a check and balance over Pres. Obama, while only 33% want a Dem to help pass the WH agenda. Obama's job approval ratings clock in at just 40%, while 53% disapprove.
The top of the ticket will benefit GOPers as well. Gov. Sean Parnell (R) has a wide lead over ex-state House Min. Leader Ethan Berkowitz (D), besting the Dem by a 54%-40% margin.
The survey was conducted Aug. 28-29 by Basswood Research and principal Jon Lerner, who has conducted surveys for Parnell's campaign. Lerner surveyed 400 likely voters for a margin of error of +/- 4.9%.
Alaska is a wierd state. Personally I don't believe it would be possible for someone like Miller to ever govern like a libertarian in Alaska. The state gets more government subsidies and more food and supplies brought in from the lower 48 than any others. It is so strange, that it has had this Wyoming or Montana style Libertarian slant over the years, yet they can't grow anything up there much.
The state is sort of like the Norway of North America, other than their politics of course. Palin and the tea party might be able to get elected, but Miller, just like senators Stevens, and Murkowski end up being the biggest hypocrites in the Senate. They get their consituents to believe they are for less government, but if there was no government intervention in Alaska, it would uninhabitable.
ALaska's environmentalists are agressive, and are not people you want to mess with. Of course the residents of that state can deny, and deny and deny climate change, but when half of Greenland is falling off the earth and the Polar bears struggle for survival because of melting glaciers, all we hear is some jackass politician saying "drill baby drill". Palin is a moral hypocrite of the first degree.
The Polar Bear population has doubled since 1998. Libertarians are not against trade, you can be a libertarian without growing your own food. Libertarians are more pro trade than anyone else. Alaskans can sell oil, buy food, and still be libertarian.
Boy does someone need an education on Alaska, well I am an Alaskan, in the Matsu valley we have farms and beautiful growing conditions and in Delta we have Barley fields as far as the eye can see.
Polar Bears are on the increase not decrease.
Our State constitutional compact gave us the rights to fund our state with our oil, gold and other natural resources but the fed came in and has locked up almost the entire state, this is what Jimmy Carter Started and other Dems have been doing. We cannot have a income tax as there are not enough folks to tax. So we have had to depend on the damn government and we want them out of our state all together.There would be no reason for the aid if the federal government would let us into our own land.

How did it become you'll land? The land belongs to God. That's the problem with the right-wing, they seem to believe that everything belong to them and want to take and own everything, with no questions asked.
