Tea Party Express: O'Donnell Trails By 2% Among Likeliest Voters
Christine O'Donnell is trailing Rep. Mike Castle by only 2% among voters most likely to turnout in the Delaware Senate GOP primary, according to a Tea Party Express poll.
The poll, obtained by Hotline On Call, found that among GOP voters who indicated they are most likely to vote -- or "10s" in polling lingo -- Castle leads O'Donnell 43% to 41%.
The Tea Party Express released the top line of the poll on Thursday. That showed O'Donnell trailing Castle by nearly 6%, 43.7% to 38%.
These new numbers suggest that Castle is significantly more vulnerable than originally believed.
However, it is worth taking these numbers with a grain of salt. The poll was conducted by NSON Opinion Research with live interviewers. It surveyed 300 DE Republican voters and has a margin of error of +/- 5.7%.
It is also worth noting that the survey was conducted Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Since then, the media scrutiny on O'Donnell has intensified and she has committed some missteps. Most notably, she gave a disastrous interview on Dan Gaffney's radio show on Thursday. There are also new reports that O'Donnell only recently earned her college degree, 17 years after she left the school.
However, the Tea Party Express has a strong track record with long-shot candidates. Most recently, they helped propel Joe Miller to his upset of Sen. Lisa Murkowski in last week's GOP primar in AK. They were also involved in Sharron Angle's primary win the Nevada GOP primary.
The Tea Party Express clearly sees an opportunity in Delaware and they are investing heavily in this race. They are reportedly going to spend at least $250K on their first ad buy, airing a TV ad.

What differnce does it make if it took 17 years or 30?
It shows perserverance, discipline, fortitude and the desire to succeed.
This is the kind of person that WE need to succeed.
Anyone who attempted tp persecute our candidate simply is showing their ignorance and are are "simpletons".
There are so many people in this world particularly in our country that have made huge successes that have earned fortunes, have led Fortune 500 companies, and yet have never attended or completed college.
Perhaps we should reflect some of these statements in response to these ridiculous statements.

This is a classic case of having to decide whether it is better to put a conservative on the general election ballot, when there is doubt that she can beat the Democrat, or put the RINO on the ballot if he has a strong likelihood of beating the Democrat.
If the Democrat wins, the game is over. If the RINO wins, we'd have another Specter or Snowe, but the Party would get one more Senator to count for control of the Senate. It's a tough choice, but not being in DE I can't vote on this one. It all boils down to whether or not there is a decent chance of the conservative beating the Democrat.
If it turns out that Castle wins the Primary, I surely hope that Christine would get behind Mike and ask her supporters to vote for him. If the reverse would happen, Mike needs to support Christine in every possible way. None of this filing as an Independent, that's for poor losers.
The NRSC "leadership" has a lot to learn from this year's elections.
For all those supporting this idiotic, unserious candidate, get it through your head that SHE CAN'T WIN A GENERAL ELECTION IN DELAWARE. Would you rather obtain a majority that can stop Obama or would you rather purge the party of RINOs. The left is praying with all their might that O'Donnell wins. That tells you all you need to know.
Jimmy Carter wanted Ronald Reagan to win the nomination because he would be the easiest to beat. Look what happened.
Jeez, some people are such idiots. Now we have morons comparing Ronald Reagan to a nutbar, liar, unemployed candidate whose only source of income seems to be campaign donations.
I don't recall Reagan lying about his college degree or telling interviewers he checks the bushes in front of his home for spies from the Carter administration. I don't recall Ronald Reagan using campaign funds to pay his rent because he didn't have a job. I don't recall Reagan starting sleezy "gay affair" rumors about his opponent and then issuing the most pathetically transparent denials ever witnessed. I don't recall Reagan lying about how many counties he had won during his last election.
If you think a nut like O'Donnell is going to win in one of the most liberal states in the US, you are even more of a kook than she clearly is. All you have to do is listen to one of her interviews to know she is the most unserious candidate of this election cycle.
As for electability, we are less than two months from the election and the most recent Rasmussen Poll has her losing by 10% to the Democratic nominee (the same poll shows the Dem losing to Castle by 12%), a number that has surely increased given her disastrous radio interview, the revelations about her finances and the fact she hasn't had a job for who knows how long, her paranoid assertions that Mike Castle's campaign is breaking her windows and hiding in her shrubs, her Richard Blumenthalesque lies about her college degree; the list goes on and on. Furthermore, comparing her to a man, Joe Miller, who has a Ivy League law degree, a Bronze Star for action in Iraq and a real job, is a joke.
As is obvious by my screenname, I hate the Democratic Party, yet I am willing to admit that O'Donnell is one of the most pathetic, if not THE most pathetic, unserious, idiotic candidates in recent memory. I hope she gets crushed so bad that she finally gets the message that the people of Delaware are not interested in her. And the fact she has implicitly threatened a sore-loser independent runs indicates no Republican should support her.
Christine O'Donnell, if nominated, would be the Alvin Greene of the Republican Party. At least he served in the United States military.
That's correct...if the Republicans laugh at Alvin Greene in South Carolina, they should laugh with the same amount of contempt with Christine O'Donnell. Seriously, all she knows is mouthing off the talking points on smaller government, less taxes blah blah blah and with zero amount of substance in them. I am not laughing at the fact that she took 17 yrs to complete a college degree, but to those defending this fact, just ask yourselves, what if your own son and daughter tells you they are going to take 17 years to complete their college degree? What's your reaction? I am for electing someone instead electing against someone. For the tea party supporters, please compare and contrast the resumes of Joe Miller, Ken Buck, Sharron Angle to that of Christine O'Donnell. Take Joe Miller for instance - he;s a yale law school grad (could have gotten any lawyer job he likes in the East Coast), a desert storm vet, silver star recipient, been active in alaska politics since 2004...even Sharron Angle - she's an elected state rep, various boards...Buck - an district attorney with established record...and what about O'Donnell - nothing...she can talk over talk radio, c'mmon...have we Republicans sunk so low to set a bar so low to let her in when we get a sure chance to win with Mike Castle? There are plenty of reasonable and attractive tea partiers supported candidates out there...this O'Donnell character sure doesn't meet the criteria. To the tea party express, send you 200-250K ad dollars to Sharron Angle or Ken Buck, they both would need them...better chance, better candidates to spend the money on.

An additional comment:-
It took me 32 years from receiving my BA to complete my Doctorate at Columbia University.
Christine O'Donnell took only 17 years to complete her preferred degree. Bravo!
Anyone who wants Mike Castle to win is a liberal. He voted for Cap and Trade, admits he won't vote to repeal government run health care, he is anti-second amendment, was one of two Republicans to vote for the Disclose Act that 36 Democrats even voted against, and he votes with Pelosi 70 percent of the time. Those of you who are so proud that Castle has an R next to his name and that he would give the Republicans one more seat are not worried about the issues, because we all know Castle is going to vote down the line with the Democrats on the Obama agenda. He will vote for Cap and Trade and Card Check in a lame duck session of Congress. The country is being dragged to hell by the liberals and Castle is one of them, and I'm supposed to worry how Christine O'donnell pays her rent when a third of the citizens of this country can't pay their rent. For some of you liberal Republicans it is all about winning the majority and not who we seat. If you want one of Pelosi's allies in the Senate vote for Mike Castle. Who pays his rent by the way...Oh that's right we do with our tax dollars. Castle is beyond a RINO, he is a radical liberal who is more left of center than many Democrats. Christine O'donnell's rent, her debt, and her college degree doesn't effect a single person in Delaware or the country other than her. The voting record of the next Delaware senator will effect every single one of us. If you're willing to trust Mike Castle with your children's future then you're already beyond help.
This contest is a lot bigger than Christine vs Castle. It is a battle between the old guard looser Republicans that have inbred with the Democrats vs this new upstart class of Republicans that think beyond personal aggrandizement and is focused on the good of the country as a whole, and led to this goal by the roadmap of the Constitution. This is an epic struggle to accomplish a new paradigm.
Castle the RINO has to go! I'm in Delaware and will be voting for O'Donnell. O'Donnell is more like me in that she has a hard time paying rent and finished school late. She's not some snobby career politician. Finally, she doesn't stomp all over the US CONSTITUTION like the jerk Castle!
It doesn't matter whether Castle wins over the Democrat. If Castle wins, the Democrats win anyway - its the same thing. Party designation means nothing anymore - the political paradigm has changed!!
